What is Kolanticon
Kolanticon® is an established medicine that has recently been approved for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and is available from your pharmacist without prescription. You do not need to see a doctor to be able to use Kolanticon but it is advisable to visit your doctor if you suspect that you have IBS. Only your doctor or pharmacist can confirm that you have IBS. The preparation has already been successfully used as a treatment for indigestion.
Kolanticon contains four active ingredients that help to alleviate the symptoms of IBS all in one preparation:
- Dicycloverine hydrochloride, an antispasmodic agent
- Aluminium hydroxide, an antacid
- Magnesium oxide, an antacid
- Simethicone, an antiflatulent agent
These main ingredients have been shown to be both effective and well tolerated for over 35 years.
Kolanticon is available as white liquid that is taken in 5 ml spoonfuls every four hours. Kolanticon is a sugar-free preparation that is low in sodium (salt) and contains no gluten or lactose. This means that Kolanticon is suitable for a wide range of people who may not be able to tolerate or ingest certain ingredients.
